Meet our Editor-in-Chief
George-Cătălin Muntean is an emerging scholar and editor specializing in animal science, with a strong academic and research foundation in zootechnics. He is currently a PhD candidate in Animal Science at the Doctoral School of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), where he is actively engaged in both research and teaching activities.
He holds a Master’s degree in Animal Husbandry and Aquaculture, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Aquaculture, both obtained from the Faculty of Animal Science and Biotechnologies within the same institution. His academic training is firmly rooted in zootechnical sciences, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of livestock production systems, nutrition, physiology, and applied research methodologies.
Mr. Muntean has accumulated substantial editorial experience since 2019, serving as an editor for an international scientific publishing house. In this role, he manages the full editorial workflow of manuscripts, including initial assessment, coordination of peer review, communication with authors and reviewers, and final editorial decisions. His work supports journals indexed in recognized international databases and covering key domains such as animal husbandry, veterinary sciences, and agricultural research.
His scientific output includes more than 15 peer-reviewed publications, many of which are published in reputable animal science journals. His research contributions primarily fall within the broader field of animal husbandry, encompassing topics such as animal nutrition, productivity indices, product quality, and alternative feed resources. His work demonstrates a consistent focus on improving efficiency and sustainability in animal production systems.
In addition to his editorial and research activities, he is involved in academic instruction and mentoring within the university environment, contributing to the training of future specialists in animal science. His combined experience in research, publishing, and higher education positions him as a competent and dedicated professional within the field of zootechnics.
